Chassis repairs

The chassis has a crucial impact on safety, stability and driving comfort. If your car feels unstable, ‘floats’, makes knocking noises or you notice uneven tyre wear, it’s time for a check-up. At Mraz Motorsport in Rynoltice, we carry out diagnostics and repairs on the chassis components of passenger cars, including subsequent wheel alignment.

How to spot a chassis fault

Typical signs include uneven tyre wear, play in the axles, vibrations or a knocking sound from the steering wheel when driving over uneven surfaces. These symptoms often indicate wear and tear on specific chassis components or the need for axle alignment. The sooner the problem is detected, the smaller the scope of the repair tends to be, and the better the tyres and other components are protected.

Inspection, diagnosis and repair

We begin with a routine inspection and fault diagnosis to determine the specific cause of the problem. We then carry out repairs and part replacements depending on the condition of the car – ranging from minor adjustments to the replacement of chassis components. The aim is for the car to handle predictably and stably after the repair, without any unwanted noises or play.

The most common chassis repairs

In practice, we most frequently carry out replacements of joints/pins, shock absorbers, upper mountings and springs. These parts wear out naturally and can cause both poorer handling and faster tyre wear. Based on our findings, we will propose a repair plan and recommend which issues should be addressed immediately and which can be scheduled.

Wheel alignment after repair

Part of a properly carried out chassis repair is the subsequent wheel alignment. Adjusting the alignment helps to ensure correct wheel tracking, stability at higher speeds and even tyre wear. Following the replacement of chassis components, wheel alignment is crucial to ensure that the repair remains effective in the long term.
