Brake system repairs

The braking system is one of the most important parts of a car – safety, braking performance and the service life of components all depend on its condition. At Mráz Motorsport, we provide servicing and maintenance for passenger car braking systems, including the prevention of typical problems caused by wear and tear and the ageing of materials.

Maintenance of brake linings and contact surfaces

When we think of ‘brake repairs’, we often imagine simply replacing parts, but regular maintenance is just as important. With brake pads, it is essential to monitor the contact surfaces – that is, the areas where the pads make contact with and move within the calipers. If these surfaces are neglected, the pads may not move correctly, braking may be uneven and brake components will wear out more quickly.

Brake discs and the formation of a ‘rim’

Excessive wear on a brake disc can cause a ridge (flange) to form on its edge. This can prevent the pad from making proper contact across its entire contact surface. Checking the condition of the discs and addressing this ridge is an important part of brake servicing – the aim is to maintain the braking range and ensure smooth operation.

Brake fluid, hoses and rubber components

Brake fluid controls the brake calipers, so it is vital not to underestimate its condition or that of the hoses. A common problem is the deterioration of rubber components (e.g. rubber parts/hoses) in the brake lines – the material ages over time and its properties may change. Regular inspection and timely attention to these components help prevent faults and keep the braking system reliable.

Change the brake fluid at least once every two years

We recommend changing the brake fluid at least once every two years. This is a simple but very important maintenance task which supports the correct functioning of the entire braking system and helps to maintain consistent braking performance.
